University of Santo Tomas (UST) coach Kungfu Reyes left his wards to play on their own as the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament entered its crucial stretch.

Fresh from a heartbreaking loss to Ateneo de Manila, the Tigresses improved to a 6-4 win-loss record after defeating winless Adamson University in four sets, 25-12, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19.

Team captain Sisi Rondina spewed fire as she delivered 18 points while EJ Laure had 14 markers. Ria Meneses and Pam Lastimosa also added 11 points apiece.

But still, Reyes was far from satisfied.

The Tigresses came up with a lot of unforced errors which the Lady Falcons took advantage to snatch the third set.

Reyes said they wouldn’t achieve their goal if they couldn’t be consistent.

During their match versus Adamson, Reyes was quietly sitting at the sidelines, leaving the Tigresses figuring out how to overcome the aggressive Lady Falcons.

He hopes that such third set loss would fire up his wards so they could show who they really are.
