Freeball: The Volleyball Podcast is a brand new podcast presented by Lewie Lett and Cameron Beck. Between them, they have over 30 years’ experience of playing, coaching and commentating on the great sports of indoor and beach volleyball.

The two first met when Lewie became coach of the London Ace’s volleyball team which Cam is a part of. They quickly hit it off over their love of the game and their shared desire to see volleyball develop as a sport around the world.

Lewie’s career in commentating and Cam’s experience as a playing helped them to create a special way to share their love of volleyball. And so, Freeball: The Volleyball Podcast was born.

Their goal is to give people the most important news from all around the world of Beach and Indoor Volleyball. From the FIVB to the CEV, all the way down to the local level, they will be letting you know what events are taking place, who is winning them and any changes that may be occuring.

Freeball: The Volleyball Podcast will also bring you exclusive interviews with some of the biggest names in volleyball from around the world – Tijana Boskovic, Kevin Tillie, Lonneke Sloetjes, Jordan Larson, Karol Klos, Kevin Tillie and many more…

Brenden Sander (USA) and Anna Jusino (Puerto Rico) both graduated from college last year, Sanders journey has see him travel in his brothers foot steps to the prestigious Cucine Lube Civitanova in Italy where he is playing in one the of worlds most glamorous rosters. Jusinos first contract has seen her land in the unlikely destination of Altay Volleyball Club in Kazakstan – this episode insightful and not to be missed.

Lewie and guest host Mark discuss the split of Bruno and Pedro and Evandro and Vitor Felipe in what was massive news for the sport last week and they also look back at the Italian Cup Final last weekend.

This week we talk to the mightily impressive Ferhat Akbas, who recently decided to walk away from his post as Japans national team coach just 4 months after hosting an incredible World Championships and 18 months before Japan hosting a home Olympics.

The 32 year old gives an exclusive insight into his decision making, philosophies, future aspirations and international offers alongside telling us what it is like to work with his long term mentor and the only person to win Olympic Gold as a player and coach in “Jenny” Lang Ping.
